SOLE Scholarships

EMERGING ARTIST SCHOLARSHIP

The Emerging Artist Scholarship at SOLE is designed to empower and support talented, up-and-coming artists as they embark on their musical journey.

This scholarship is awarded to individuals 16 years and up who demonstrate exceptional skill, passion, and potential in the music industry. By providing financial support, the scholarship aims to cultivate the next generation of artists, helping them achieve their creative goals and develop a sustainable career in the arts. This scholarship will be awarded to an individual who is accepted into our Artist Development programme, and will go toward the cost of the programme.

 
 

APPLY FOR THE EMERGING ARTIST SCHOLARSHIP

Scholarship Criteria:

To apply for the Emerging Artist Development Scholarship, candidates will need to have applied and been accepted for our Artist Development programme, and provide:

  1. Portfolio of Work:

    • Applicants should submit a portfolio showcasing 2-3 original songs or performances that highlight their artistic style and technical skills. Phone recordings are acceptable.

  2. Artist Statement:

    • A written statement (250 words) that shares their artistic vision, musical influences, and career aspirations.

  3. Letter of Recommendation:

    • A recommendation from a teacher, mentor, or professional in the music industry who can attest to the applicant's talent, dedication, and potential.

4. Financial Need Proof

  • Please provide documentation such as a recent bank statement & proof of current income. If you are financially supported by a parent or guardian, their financial documentation will also be required.

This scholarship is awarded based on artistic merit, dedication to career growth, financial need and alignment with SOLE's vision to nurture and empower emerging artists.

Once applicants are selected for the Artist Development programme, all eligible applications will be reviewed, and the scholarship recipient will be chosen by an independent panel.

Applications for the 6month programme starting in July close on the 13th June 2024 and a decision is made by the 4th July 2024.

$500 towards the programme fee.

Applications for the 1 year programme starting in February 2026 close on the 7th Nov 2025 and a decision is made by the 28th Nov 2025.

$1000 towards the programme fee.
