ARTIST DEVELOPMENT

Our audition-only, one-year Artist Development Programme is for skilled singers, songwriters, producers, and bands (17+) ready to define their sound, identity, and career direction. Across the year, you’ll create original music, sharpen your performance, deepen your industry knowledge, learn how to market yourself and leave with a clear, actionable roadmap.

Led by platinum award-winning artist Sacha Vee, SOLE is recognised as one of Aotearoa’s leading artist training pathways, with more than fifteen students relocating to Ōtautahi in the past three years. The programme develops real artistry, real skills, and real confidence, all while surrounding you with like-minded artists so the journey isn’t lonely.

It’s designed to fit alongside school, uni, or full-time work but goes one step further than traditional study ever can, offering real-world industry knowledge, personalised coaching, and the kind of opportunities and mentorship that simply don’t exist in a standard classroom.

Not based in Ōtautahi? Our Hybrid Online Option brings SOLE’s training to committed musicians nationwide. You’ll learn through live online sessions and travel to four in-person intensive weeks where the biggest breakthroughs, assessments, and creative projects happen, giving you the full SOLE experience without having to relocate.

The scholarship at SOLE is designed to empower and support talented, up-and-coming artists as they embark on their musical journey.

If you apply and are accepted for our Artist Development Programme, this scholarship may be available to you. It is designed to support individuals, aged 17+, who demonstrate outstanding talent, dedication, and potential in music and would benefit from financial assistance.

FAQs

Submit your form and, if accepted, we’ll invite you to an audition where we’ll walk through the full programme details, including costs comparable to a year of university study.
As we are a private academy, study link is not an option however we do provide payment plans to suit our students needs.
We also have our Emerging Artist Development scholarship which you can apply for.
To apply, simply fill out the scholarship form. Once applicants are selected for the programme, all eligible applications will be reviewed, and the scholarship recipient will be chosen by an independent panel.

You will end the programme with an Artist Toolkit and roadmap to continue or launch your music career.
Join our SOLE Society - a supportive community membership for emerging artists.
This programme will fast track your way into the music industry and get you on the right path to achieving your goals in music.
The programme for people who wish to seek alternative study and allow time to develop their artistry.
The programme adheres to official NZQA standards and may become accredited in the future. However at this stage there is no formal qualification.
You will finish the programme with a clear understanding of the music industry, your own platform, sound and image and how to move forward to establish a career in music.
