TERMS & CONDITIONS

We expect every SOLE member to;

  • Always respect our mentors and the invaluable experience and knowledge they provide.

  • Always respect the SOLE premises and all the equipment. We have cameras operating at all times.

  • Always respect other SOLE members.

  • Please arrive at least 10min before a session starts to allow for an awesome session.

  • Please practise and stay updated with your notes as we measure your progress and you will see results.

  • We expect you to be present, passionate, ready to learn and be empowered by every session.

Session Policy

Sessions run during school terms (9-11 weeks). There are no sessions on Public holidays unless notified.

All students are provided with a login to our online music portal. You can sign into your music portal via our website. Here you can check your session times, notes, makeup credit and balance. This is also where you can cancel a session,  book in a makeup session and view any upcoming events at SOLE in your calendar as well as term breaks.

All communication with your mentor must be done through this online music portal or the studio email not via their personal email, Facebook, Instagram, text or phone message.

Students will be expected to practice regularly. Progress will be measured throughout the year in performance evenings which students will be offered at least two opportunities to perform at, if they are ready.

Students must respect the SOLE premises, equipment, mentors and other SOLE members at all times or risk their tuition being cancelled immediately. Cameras are running 24/7 in all rooms.

Your session time is yours until you notify us in writing by emailing our studio admin. We require notice by the last day of each term that you no longer require sessions. If insufficient notice is given, you will be liable to pay for the first four sessions of the following term. All students will be invited to re-enrol at the end of each year.

To cancel a session - please log into your my music staff portal and click the session you wish to cancel. Your mentor will be immediately notified. If you have provided us with 24hours notice we will provide you with a make-up credit. This does not apply to group sessions.

Sickness - If you are feeling ill, please do not come into the studio. If you are well enough we will provide you with a zoom link.  If you have provided us with 24hours notice we will provide you with a make-up credit.

Students who are enrolled in weekly private sessions are permitted one make-up session per term.

Make-up Credits - are issued if 24hrs notice has been given. It is your responsibility to book in your own make-up session. When you login to your music portal you will see your make-up credit owing. 1 credit = 1 session. Your credit expires at the end of the term.

Book in a make-up session - Watch this video to learn how to book in a make-up session.

We do not provide make up sessions in the last week of term, unless you notify us before the beginning of the term E.g. school camp, school production, vacation or medical related. Make-up sessions may or may not be conducted with your SOLE mentor. Make-up sessions cannot be rebooked. Make-up lessons are void if the student is not up to date with enrolment fees.

If you are unable to attend the make-up session day/s your mentor has provided we are not obligated to provide another day. However, there may be other options available throughout the term where other students have cancelled in advance and you are welcome to book their session time. If there are no open sessions available please contact solestudio@solemusicacademy.co.nz.

If your mentor is unable to teach your session, you will be provided with a fill in for your session. If no one is available a makeup credit will be issued.

COVID Policy

In the event where the Government places restrictions on teaching in person, our sessions will continue online and you will be provided with a ZOOM link. If you are unable to learn online due to your living situation, we can provide a learning space at SOLE or if not possible to attend, your sessions will be credited until you are able to complete them. We do not provide any refunds.

Payment

You will receive an invoice for your sessions before the start of each term. We require your first term payment upfront. If we have not received payment within the first two weeks of the term, your sessions will be cancelled until payment has been made and you will incur a late fee of $50.00 which will be charged to your account.

Once you have paid for one full term,  you have two payment options to pay your invoice and you can keep track of all your payments on your music portal account.

  1. Pay the full amount within the first two weeks.

  2. Pay weekly. Please notify us and pay the first two weeks in advance before or in the first week of term. Then set up a weekly automatic payment for the balance. Your payment must be always in advance to the sessions and if your balance is not cleared by the end of term you will incur a late fee of $50.00.

Music resources (sheet music or curriculum books) are required for our sessions. This is an extra cost which is charged to your account.

Family Discounts - Additional family members who enrol in weekly private sessions will receive 5% off their tuition fees. Discounts are offered to all immediate family members including parents. Our family discount only applies when more than one class is conducted in the same week.

Multi-instrumental Discounts - Members who enrol in two or more weekly sessions will receive 5% off their tuition fees for each additional lesson.
